Service Projects
For me, service projects are a way to give back to the organization. These are usually just short term, but must be completed and so dependability is the most important attribute when making a commitment to serve.

A Dress for the Queen
During the Reign of Lorcan and Grainne, I was commissioned to make a Burgundian gown for Her Majesty. This was my first commission for clothing for a royal. As you might imagine, I was very nervous.
I met with Her Majesty, took measurements, and then went home and constructed a pattern. I made a mock dress to test the pattern. Then I cut out the dress in the fabric that was commissioned. I stay-stitched the dress together for a fitting.
I met with Her Majesty again for a fitting of the dress and underdress. The fitting went well and the gown was completed. It was delivered to Her Majesty at Gulf Wars.
Sadly, at this time, I do not have any pictures of the dear lady in the dress. Photos were taken by a photographer, but I never received a copy. (Live and learn, take your own photos.)

Underdress is made from blue raw silk, and gown is made from peacock feather brocade and lined in green raw silk. The sleeves are edged in gold trim and peacock blue beads.

Belt is made from white silk with quattrefoil cutouts and ornamented with gold and silver sequins. The belt buckle was found by me on French Ebay and is antique gold with royal blue and white ennamelling. The seller claimed it was an actual period piece, however, I believe in translation, she actually meant it is a period reproduction.
