Italian Dress
In my persona, I strive to emulate the time period that Isabella d'Este lived and graced the world with her stylistic excellence. She married in 1495 and died near 1540, and her style affected style across the Italian Peninsula and beyond. Here are my humble offerings.
This is not a dress diary, but merely some of my musings and the inspirations for each. Thank you for viewing.

My Elevation Dress
White brocade, Maroon velvet painted gold filigree. Appliques from Burano, Italy. Beaded with glass pearls and gold beads and edged in gold. Gold Venetian lace edging. Reproduction trim on sleeve. Camicia made and embroidered by Thistlebees. Girdle glass bead from Murano, Italy. Reproduction medallion with hand-knotted coral and pearl necklace made by Aibinn ingen Artain (Navah).
1490 Gown
The portrait by Solario is the inspiration for my 1490 gown. It was my first attempt at "full- on" bella figura. I loved the color and fabric of the gown from the Girlandaio fresco and chose to blend these two inspiration portraits into one gown. As you can see, the color and sleeve pattern are from the Girlandaio and the rest is from the Solari portrait.
The fabric is gold silk brocade with a partitia and sleeves of gold Linen embroidered in pink with pearling and embroidery.
