Because of Lisa Casario Pompeo and her #FiveDayArtChallenge nomination - I am posting a gallery of photos of some interesting explorations into other mediums and ideas. As a member of the SCA, we can imitate elements of the life of period individuals, but we must assume all elements of crafting and life at one point or another if we want to do it well. We cannot live as the Sforzas, hiring artisans to build and adorn our castle, so we must make our story ourselves. So, in that interest, I have often dived into the rabbit hole of exploring other crafts that would benefit my play in the SCA.
Woodworking and pyrography is a personal family affair. My father is a boat builder and craftsman and can do amazing things with wood. My brother makes truly lovely art pieces out of wood, bowls and other vessels.
