Trident Symposium is a small class event provided free by the Barony of Darkwater every fall/winter at a local church in Orlando. The classes range from service to all things arts and sciences. Come out to a Trident Symposium and you will be glad you did. The day board lunch is also delicious as well. Despite being nearly locked in the church because everyone forgot I was in the restroom, I definitely enjoy teaching at this event.
At this event, I taught two new classes blending my love of bella figura Italiana and scribal activities. My first class, Into the Blue, focused on the color Blue in Italian Illumination and the color can be used to track the master illuminators of the Italian Renaissance. The second class I taught was an overview of the Italian Style Hebrew Manuscripts. This was a new class for me and a fascinating topic. Hebrew manuscripts were created primarily by non-Hebrew Italian illuminators. If you are interested in the idiosyncracies of the form, you will enjoy this class. Thank you all who recently attended my classes at Trident Symposium. You will find the presentations from the classes under the scribal classes tab or click here.
